Aisha R. Mondal, MD
Dr. Aisha Mondal is the founder of Allegory Psychiatry, as she was inspired to create a practice where she is able to provide thorough evaluation and collaboratively create comprehensive treatment plans. Dr. Mondal is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist licensed in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia. She was raised in Northern Virginia and attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology before studying at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a B.S. in biomedical engineering. Dr. Mondal completed her medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, where she first fell in love with the practice of psychiatry. She remained in Charlottesville at UVA Health for her adult psychiatry residency.
She pursued subspecialty training in her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Children’s National Hospital (affiliated with George Washington University) in Washington DC. Upon completion of her training, she gained additional experience in a local group private practice setting, where she also served as senior clinical director of the Bethesda office. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, as well as eating disorders. She enjoys collaborating with her patients’ therapists, pediatricians, doctors, specialists, and other medical or mental health providers.
